Tinley Park EMA maintains and operates various pieces of light and medium weight vehicles. These vehicles are on ready status for response to emergency calls for assistance.
The vehicles range from sedans which are used for administrative use, traffic and crowd control, personnel movement and weather spotting, to our special duty, medium weight light unit and special equipment truck. All vehicles carry various rescue and medical equipment.
We also utilize a 33 foot trailer as our Mobile Command Center.
671 - Coordinator's Vehicle
1992 Chevrolet Caprice 4dr.
Contains multiple radios with various frequencies to allow the Coordinator to communicate with numerous agencies on their channels. It also has the necessary manuals and reference materials to effectively coordinate EMA's response to emergency/disaster call-outs.
1988 Chevrolet 3/4 ton chassis
This is our second version of this vehicle. Primarily designed to provide emergency lighting and power for disaster/accident scenes, this vehicle can also be used for traffic control situations. Custom designed equipment box contains various portable lighting and electrical supplies. The mounted generator is a 12.5 Kw Onan, capable of running on gasoline or LP. 2 - 1500w Metal-Halide lights. 4 - 1000W Halogen lights. Has a custom connect for delivering power to our Mobile Operations Center trailer (680).

Contains our power equipment - chain saws, generators, pumps. Light rescue and response equipment and tools, Mass casualty equipment and medical supplies. The interior shelving was custom built to our specifications. Currently also supporting our SCUBA recovery team with tanks and dive equipment.
674 - 4wd Suburban
1986 Chevrolet Suburban
Primarily used for personnel and equipment movement, this vehicle is also utilized for traffic control and other assignments. 4wd to allow off-road use or in flooded/heavy snow areas. Carries some light rescue and medical supplies. Additional suspension was added to allow this vehicle to pull our Mobile Operations Center (680).
675, 676, 677, 678, 679, 681 - Marked Units

Purchased
new in 1987, it was designed and outfitted entirely by our organization.
The front 1/3 is the communications area, with multiple radios
capable of communicating on numerous frequencies. The rear 2/3
contains the operations area with designated positions for various
agencies and a common working/planning area. Normally powered
by our Light Unit (672), there
are also connection boxes on the outside to allow electric and
phone services to provide service for extended use scenes.
